William G. “Billy” Edelman, 47, of North Platte passed away April, 12, 2024 at his home.

He was born Jan. 13, 1977 to Dickie Paul and Jean Ann (Christensen) Edelman in Grant.

Bill graduated from North Platte High School with the class of 1995. He attended the University of Nebraska and was in the Ag Men Fraternity there. After college he returned to North Platte and went to work for the City of North Platte, training on the job to eventually become a lineman. Always the provider, Bill worked a second job with Neil Deertz wiring houses while Tabitha was in nursing school.

For several years he managed the warehouse for Municipal Light & Water. Later he went to work for Dutton-Lainson as a salesman, where he was currently working.

Bill loved his family and friends with all his heart and would do anything for anyone. He frequently helped strangers while out on the road working.

He loved following his boys in their activities and was so proud of the men they are becoming. He taught them to be gentlemen and always show respect to others.

He was a Husker Fan through and through and loved watching all Husker sports. His passion was golf and would play whenever he could whether alone or with others. From golf to music, hunting, fishing, camping, boating, and dancing, he was always ready to be social.

He could make friends with anyone he met, and did. He loved going to his grandparents’ home every summer when he was young and spent as much time with them as he could.
