Malcolm shut out Maxwell-St. Pat’s, 12-0, on Friday in the district semifinals.

MSP ends the season with a 2-9 record.

The day before losing to Malcolm, MSP defeated Tekamah-Herman, 15-9, in the bunny bracket game of the C-1 district.

In that one, MSP erupted for 10 runs in the fourth inning to lead 15-6. Tekamah-Herman tried to rally back, scoring two in the fifth and one in the sixth. But freshman Breckyn Collins held the Tigers scoreless in the seventh to send MSP to the semifinals against Malcolm, the top-ranked team in Class C.

MSP’s other win came on April 12 when they beat Sedgwick County, Colo., 7-6, on the road.

MSP graduates six seniors — Cyrrus Messersmith, Coy Baker, Braxton Williams, Austin Miller, Tyce Cumming and Addison Tracy. Messersmith, Baker, Williams and Miller were freshmen for MSP during their first season in 2021.
