The season came to an end Saturday for the North Platte High School volleyball team as they were swept by Elkhorn South in the district finals.
The Lady Bulldogs finish the season with a record of 16-22.
Elkhorn South, ranked No. 1 in Class B in the NSAA’s power point rankings, won the first set 25-19 before blasting the Lady Bulldogs in the second, 25-8. North Platte played better in the third set but ultimately lost that one, 25-19.
North Platte came on strong at the end of the season by winning eight of its last 12 matches, including the B-7 subdistrict on Oct. 30, when they defeated both Holdrege and McCook.
Only two seniors graduate from this year’s team — outside hitter Peyton Negley and setter Abbie Hedgecock.
