In an apparent murder-suicide, the Nebraska State Patrol and Gage County Sheriff’s Office are investigating the deaths of a man and woman who were found dead Tuesday morning near Blue Springs.
The Gage County Sheriff’s Office responded to a 911 call that reported the deaths at a home at 628 E. Oak Road, outside of Blue Springs. Upon arrival, the sheriff’s office requested assistance from the Nebraska State Patrol.
Investigators found the body of, Jason Arnold, 49, of Blue Springs, with an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound. Inside, investigators found a deceased female, Brooke Koch, 40, of Blue Springs.
Arnold failed to appear Tuesday morning in Gage County Court for violating a protection order that prohibited him from contacting Koch.
Nebraska State Patrol spokesman Cody Thomas emphasized that the case is believed to be a murder-suicide, with no threat to the public.
The Gage County Attorney has requested autopsies, which are scheduled for Wednesday morning.
