Troopers with the Nebraska State Patrol arrested a California man Friday and seized 90 pounds of marijuana during a traffic stop on I-80 in Buffalo County.

NSP spokesman Cody Thomas said at around 1:30 p.m. Feb. 1, a trooper saw an eastbound 2007 GMC pickup fail to signal a lane change near Shelton, and pulled it over. During the stop, an NSP drug detection dog indicated there was a controlled substance in the vehicle.

Troopers searched the pickup and found 90 pounds of marijuana inside kitchen cabinets and homemade wooden boxes in the bed of the truck.

The driver, Ying Zhu, 45, of Rowland Heights, Calif. was charged with possession of more than a pound of marijuana, as well as possession with intent to deliver and no drug tax stamp.

Zhu was taken to the Buffalo County Jail.
