North Platte High had three first place finishes at the George Anderson Invitational hosted by Omaha North on Thursday.

Katie Titus and Keyala Williams won the discus and the long jump for the girls, while Layton Moss won the pole vault for the boys.

Titus won the discus with a distance of 124’5″, winning by nearly 12 inches over second place Kalyn Bailey of Omaha Westview.

Williams won the long jump at 16’9″. She edged Sara Iburg of Lincoln Pius X by two and a half inches.

The North Platte girls finished fifth among nine teams with 45 points. Kearney was first with 151. Pius was second with 85 and Omaha Marian was third with 83.

Moss won the pole vault with a height of 13’6″. Seth Berens of Lincoln Pius and Sam Nachtigal of Kearney also got 13’6″ but Moss converted more of his vaults.

The Bulldog boys also finished fifth, scoring 50 points. They were one point short of Fremont. Kearney was first with 158, Omaha Creighton Prep was second with 115 and Pius was third with 94.

Next, NPHS will compete in the A-2 district meet on May 7 at Papillion-LaVista.
