High school fishing champs

Jack Hughes, Reece Perry and boat captain Scott Blaesi (center) won the Student Angler Federation Nebraska High School state fishing tournament on Sunday, May 5.

The tournament was held at Merritt Reservoir.

The team’s total bag weighed 9.95 pounds.

The win qualifies them for the High School Fishing National Championship on June 19-22 at Lake Hartwell in South Carolina.
