The Prairie Arts Center will reopen its doors on June 2. The public hours will be 11 a.m.-2 p.m. during the first week in June.
The hours will be adjusted throughout the month.
Gallery: Through the month of June, you can explore the art therapy process through drug court and how art supports their healing process.
This process allows those in recovery to use their creativity and imagination to create paintings, drawings, sculpture, videos, poetry and music. Everything in “The Art of Recovery” exhibit allows artists to express themselves in a healthy and productive way.
Art therapy helps people cope with medical challenges, stress and anxiety, as well as expand their forms of communication and express thoughts and feelings that they may not be able to say with words.
Classes: Classes will be rescheduled as we re-open our doors and we will contact registrants to notify them of rescheduled class times and dates. Online art kits and delivery will be available through May.
Flipping out: The Flea Market Flip will take place from 11-3 p.m. July 18 in the art center parking lot. Teams can sign up now online at prairieartscenter.org. Team fees are $35 and each team can enter up to three items.
The pieces will be sold on July 18 via silent and live auction. The proceeds will be split between the PAC and a non-profit organization of the team’s choosing.
