The school district’s first community forum on allocating some property taxes to remodel the entrances of three North Platte school buildings will be held from 2-3 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 14.
The meeting will be held in the Centennial Building at the Lincoln County Fairgrounds.
Other meetings are scheduled:

Jan. 23, 6-7 p.m. – Eisenhower Elementary library
Feb. 3, 7-8 p.m. – Great Plains Regional Hospital, conference rooms west of main entrance.

The topic of discussion will be the dedication of 45 cents of the existing school tax levy to new entrances at North Platte High, Buffalo and Jefferson elementary schools, plus updates to heating, air conditioning and ventilation systems at Eisenhower, Jefferson and McDonald elementary schools.
The 45-cent property tax levy generates about $1.1 million a year.
The question will be settled in a special election by mail-in ballots only on March 10.
