Nebraska state troopers arrested an Iowa man who was allegedly speeding on I-80 Monday and seized nearly 950 THC vape cartridges near North Platte.

Around 10:50 a.m., a trooper saw an eastbound Ford Escape speeding at mile marker 179 – the North Platte exit, NSP spokesman Cody Thomas said.

Thomas said the trooper pulled the car over and became aware of drug activity, so he searched the vehicle.

The search turned up 947 THC vape cartridges in vacuum sealed bags. They were hidden inside a box in the cargo area.

The driver, John Norris, 22, of Johnston, Iowa, was charged with possession of THC/hash oil with intent to deliver and no drug tax stamp.

A female passenger was cited for possession of less than an ounce of marijuana and released.

Norris was taken to the Lincoln County jail.
