Police were called to the downtown area early Tuesday morning to check out a report of two tires that were deliberately punctured.

Police spokesman Matt Elder said officers went to the area of 500 N. Bailey at 5:44  a.m. and found two vehicles with punctured tires.

And, that was just the start of the complaints. Throughout the day, police received more reports of punctured tires within a couple block radius of the first reports.

Victims said the damage occurred during the overnight or early morning hours, Elder said, and the incidents are believed to be connected.

As of Wednesday morning, 21 tires were reportedly damaged on several different vehicles. Elder said the estimated loss is around $1,500.

No arrests had been made as of Wednesday morning.
