Karen M. Tackett, 71, of North Platte passed away on Friday, Nov. 12, 2021 at her home.

She was born on Nov. 24, 1949 to Leo and Eileen (Schiltz) Neff in Colby, Kan.

Karen graduated from Rocky Ford High School in Colorado. She worked in the housekeeping department at Motel 6 in North Platte for several years.

Surviving are her mother, Eileen Neff of North Platte; children, Lea Tackett (Raymond Smith) and James Tackett, both of North Platte; significant other, Jim Fox of Stapleton; grandchildren, Gabriella and Donielle Ballard, Loki Smith, Donavan, Mataya, Kaden and Jalyssa Tackett; siblings, Janet Lewis of Texas, Joyce Schaefer (Joe) of Waterloo, Iowa, and Keith Neff and David Neff (Teresa), both of North Platte; sister-in-law, Patty Neff of Kearney; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

She was predeceased by her father, Leo Neff; brothers, Jerry and Kenneth Neff; and brother-in-law, Brent Lewis.

Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 17 at Carpenter Memorial Chapel, which is entrusted with arrangements. Rev. Vidya Sagar Arikotla will officiate. Burial will follow in Floral Lawns Memorial Gardens.
