Jeroldine A. “Jeri” Lockman, also known as “tweedle bug” by her dad, 83, of North Platte, formerly of Fort Collins, Colo., passed away on April 21, 2024 at Great Plains Health.

On Aug. 17, 1940, she was born to Jerald and Helen (Miller) Johnson in Fort Collins.

Growing up, Jeri was raised in Waterloo, Iowa, where she also attended and graduated high school. Upon graduation, she married Don Bouck on May 10, 1958. The couple brought four children into the world: Tammy, Tina, Dennis and Doug.

Jeri worked briefly at Water Pik but held the most pride in being a stay at home to her children for most of their childhoods. After divorcing, Jerry returned to Fort Collins where she met Dwayne Lockman. The two immediately fell in love and were wed on Dec. 21, 1980.

They lived in Otis, Colo., and were happily married for 30 years. In 2000, Jeri decided to go back to school at the age of 60 and received her CNA license, something she was incredibly proud of.  After Dwayne passed away in 2010, Jeri again returned to Fort Collins where she lived until the fall of 2022.

As Jeri’s health began to decline, her daughter moved her to North Platte in order to provide care for her.

Jeri was devoted in her Faith and enjoyed reading her Bible. She loved the Lord as well as her grandchildren. She could often be found shopping and always had her hair and makeup done, up until the day she passed. Jeri was a strong woman, undergoing several surgeries in her life but always finding the strength to move forward. She had a passion for taking care of others, including her own mother in her final days.

Those that remain to remember Jeri include her children, Tammy Bouck of Fort Collins, Tina (James) Branam of North Platte, Dennis Bouck of Fort Collins; grandchildren, Brian Fredette, Amanda Fredette, Shane Medley, Mike Bouck, Jaslynn (Sam) Buck, Noah Bouck, Kasey Bouck; 10 great grandchildren holding a special bond with Pristine Stubbs and Leon Buck; siblings, Phyllis Parker of Antonio, Texas, Nancy Cooper of Nunn, Colo., and Michael Johnson of Nunn; her beloved and devoted cat, Simba; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and other family.

Jeri is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Dwayne; son, Doug, and his wife, Diane; grandson, Zachariah; sister-in-law, Janet Johnson; brother-in-law, Kent Parker; faithful Boston Terriers, Gidget and Pugs.

The family would like to extend a “thank you” to the staff at Great Plains Health for the wonderful care that Jeri  received.

A graveside service will be held on May 6 at 1 p.m. at Grand View Cemetery in Fort Collins.

Memorials are suggested to Guardians of the Children and online condolences may be shared at adamsswanson.com.
