Effective Friday (March 20) North Platte Public Transit buses are running for medical appointments and grocery store trips only.

Buses will run from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. The price of a ride is reduced to $1.50.

All buses will be wheelchairs accessible, but a limited number of buses are running, the mayor’s office said Thursday afternoon.

Call 532-1370 to schedule a ride.

The changes are in accordance with the Nebraska Department of Roads and the Federal Transit Authority.

Like the county courthouse, access is restricted to City Hall. Those who need to conduct business there are asked to call the phone numbers on the city website, or the number that you are accustom to calling.

You will be given a time to meet with a representative of the department that you are looking for and will be able to get your business transacted as quickly as possible.

All departments are staffed as usual.

This process will remain in effect until further notice.

“We will do our best to update everyone on any changes that are needed to be made to this situation as we move forward in dealing with the COVID-19 situation,” Mayor Dwight Livingston said.
