Be careful! Freezing drizzle during the night has created ice in the North Platte area, making sidewalks, streets and highways extremely slick in places.

A wintry mix of freezing rain, sleet, and snow will continue to impact the area Saturday until around noon, the National Weather Service in North Platte said.

Blustery northwest winds will create areas of blowing snow, mostly in northern Nebraska. Only an inch or two is forecast, but winds could reach 40 mph or greater.

The primary danger is slick and/or snow-packed roads from snow and ice.
