Generous donors brought flowers to the staff and residents at North Platte care homes on Thursday, brightening everyone’s day in these stressful times.
Nolan Gurnsey, the administrator of Linden Court, spoke at a press conference Friday morning on behalf of the nursing homes. He also thanked the residents’ families for being patient and following the guidelines.
Gurnsey said the only visitors allowed into the care homes are for end-of-life situations. Visitors must be symptom free. The facilities are equipped to host video chats among residents, families and friends. To set up a video chat, give the care home a call.
Gurnsey said all staff is screened daily and extra sanitation measures are taken, well past the requirements.
Gurnsey said residents and staff have also received letters and pictures from students who are home from school. He said letters, gifts and flowers are really appreciated.
