A position on the Advisory Committee of the North Platte / Lincoln County Visitors Bureau is open immediately for an at-large member who is not a part of the hotel/motel/campground industry.
A successful applicant will be appointed a full four-year term, and eligible for reappointment for a second four-year term, if the member chooses.
The deadline for returning applications is Friday, June 15.
The advisory committee reviews local tourism grant applications and recommends recipients.
The goal and mission of the Visitors Bureau is to enhance and promote a positive image of communities in Lincoln County; to assist in the development, continuation and promotion of quality events, attractions and amenities and help ensure that the highest standards of customer service are practiced in our establishments, Executive Director Lisa Burke said.
The advisory committee consists of five Lincoln County residents — two from the hotel/motel/campground industry and three from the community at large.
Members are appointed by the Lincoln County Board of Commissioners at the recommendation of the advisory committee.
The committee meets the fourth Wednesday of each month at 8:30 a.m. at the Visitors Bureau office at 101 Halligan Drive, North Platte.
Special meetings may be called by the chairperson.
Candidates are asked to fill out an application indicating community service and experience, and accompanied by two letters of recommendation.
An application can be obtained from Burke at the Visitors Bureau at 101 Halligan Drive, or by calling 308-532-4729 or emailing email@example.com.
The selection process will include a meeting with the executive director and an interview by the members of the advisory committee.
Successful candidates will be asked to attend an orientation meeting with Burke before their first official advisory committee meeting.
