Authorities have recovered 900 missing cattle in Wyoming, but it is believed that thousands more are unaccounted for in a modern-day rustling and fraud case across the western states.
The Drover’s Journal reported Monday that Justin Tyler Greer, 36, was arrested Dec. 28 in Tarzan, Texas after a six-and-half-month investigation. Greer is from California.
Under Greer’s watch, cattle owned by investors were illegally sold and moved to Colorado and Wyoming, the Journal reported. Greer allegedly defrauded more than a million dollars from prospective cattle buyers.
The investigation began in June 2017 when victims claimed to be coming up hundreds of head short, and had audits to prove it.
