UnitedHealthcare insurance and People’s Family Health Services will host a shower on Saturday for expectant moms and new parents.
The shower will be held at Great Plains Hospital in North Platte. It will include presentations about prenatal care, well-baby care and the importance of getting babies immunized.
Attendees will have the opportunity to participate in the presentation, and receive educational materials and information to encourage prenatal and postpartum well-baby care.
Healthy snacks and refreshments will be provided, organizers say.
Attendees will also receive information about UnitedHealthcare’s Baby Blocks, a free online wellness-incentive program.
The Baby Blocks program helps parents manage doctor visits and other baby care during pregnancy and the first 15 months of a child’s life.
The program enables users to receive email appointment alerts and wellness-related text messages, connect directly with maternity nurses, and earn rewards for keeping appointments.
Moms-to-be can learn how to get the most from their health insurance plan.
Rewards include gift cards to retail outlets and maternity-related items such as teething rings, diaper bags and thermometers.
This event is from 3-4 p.m. on Saturday, April 21.
Great Plains Hospital is at 601 W. Leota in North Platte.
The baby shower is part of a series of events throughout the state by UnitedHealthcare Community Plan.
