Sutherland celebrated July 4 with a parade Thursday under pleasant blue skies, with a wind that was often stout enough to extend flags to their full width.

Irene Seifer, the grand marshal, rode the route in a convertible two days before her 90th birthday.

The parade was full of horses, riders, floats, carriages, restored classic cars and kids with water guns who sprayed the happy audience as they went along.
