The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office issued a report Monday about the results of special overtime enforcement efforts during the Nebraskaland Days celebration.

From June 11-24, deputies worked overtime to enforce speed and alcohol compliance in Lincoln County. Lincoln County Sheriff Jerome Kramer said deputies conducted 184 stops, resulting in 82 citations during that time.

Five drivers were charged with driving under the influence. One of those drivers also faced additional charges of leaving the scene of an accident, procuring alcohol to a minor, contributing to the delinquency of a minor and willful reckless driving, Kramer said.

A second driver was charged with obstruction and resisting arrest.

Four subjects were arrested for outstanding warrants.

One person was charged with disturbing the peace.  

Also, deputies issued these citations:

• Speeding – 46

• No Registration – 20

• No Operators License – 10

• Minor in Possession of Alcohol – 6

• Careless Driving – 1

• Disobeying Stop Light – 2

• No Proof of Ownership – 4

• Misuse of Learner’s Permit – 1

• Misuse of School Permit – 1

• Driving Under Suspension – 1

• Possession of Drug Paraphernalia – 2

• Possession of Marijuana – 3

• Open Container – 2

• Fictitious Plates – 4 

• No Insurance – 5

• Driving Left of Center – 3

• Fail to Signal – 1

• No Helmet – 1.

In addition, deputies helped seven motorists during the 13 days of the celebration, Kramer said.
