The North Platte police made 25 traffic contacts on the weekend of April 19-21 during a special effort to counter drug-impaired drivers.
Police made an arrest for possession of a controlled substance, and issued the following citations:
1 – Violation of a traffic signal.
1 – Careless driving and exhibition of speed.
2 – No proof of insurance.
2 – No valid registration.
1- No operator’s license.
Police worked overtime during the weekend, with more officers than usual on patrol. Such efforts are funded in large part by a grant from the Office of Highway Safety of the Nebraska Department of Transportation.

This is no surprise since North Plate has been crowned as the number one most dangerous city to live in. This is according to the News Break info site, Omaha second and Grand Island third.
Seems like a good ROI to me. 10s of thousands of dollars in overtime for a few traffic violations.
I’d like to congratulate drugs for winning the war on drugs.
Also congrats to the police force for draining taxpayers dry to catch a few speeders out here
