Gov. Jim Pillen will host a town hall in North Platte on Thursday focused on the importance of property tax relief.

The session begins at 11:30 a.m. June 13 on the north campus of North Platte Community College, 1101 Halligan Dr.

Pillen is in the process of holding town halls across the state. He started not long after the legislature adjourned without enacting further property tax reforms. He intends to call the legislature into special session to specifically deal with property tax reform later this summer.

The public is welcome to attend the town halls.

“Nebraskans across the state have made clear that they expect state leaders to solve the property tax crisis,” Pillen said. “While we are counting on the Legislature to develop the right solution, all Nebraskans must be part of this conversation.”

From North Platte, he will move on to Norfolk, Auburn and Nebraska City.
