A North Platte couple was charged with illegal possession of meth and firearms on Sunday afternoon, June 16.

Police spokesman Jeremiah Johnson said police officers served a search warrant at 12:52 p.m. at a house in the 300 block of E. Eighth.

The officers were looking for meth and marijuana. They found about four grams of meth and less than an ounce of meth, as well as a collection of baggies that could be used to package small amounts for users, according to an arrest affidavit filed in Lincoln County Court.

Police found a much larger collection of eight firearms, including rifles, shotguns, a pistol and ammunition, the affidavit said.

The couple, Devon Wilson, 44, and Scott Houser, 42, were taken to the Lincoln County jail and charged with possession of methamphetamine, possession of a firearm during drug activity, as well as possession of drug paraphernalia and less than an ounce of marijuana.

Bond was set at $15,000 for each of them.
