Jan Kemp, 68, of North Platte passed away on Wednesday, June 19, 2024 at home surrounded by her loved ones.

Jan was born Jan Lynette Pease on July 6, 1955 in North Platte to James Richard Pease and Charlotte Jean (Freiberg) Pease. She grew up in North Platte and graduated from North Platte High School in 1973.

On Feb. 11, 1982, Jan Married Kenneth Duane Kemp. When the kids were growing up, they enjoyed spending their time at the cabin at Mill Isle Boat Club with family and friends. She worked for Northwestern Bell Telephone Company, Sixth Street Food Store, SunMart, Jefferson School, FNBO, and retired from Lincoln County Courthouse DMV in 2018.

After retirement, Jan enjoyed spending her days with her grandkids and watching her great-grandson Moxyn.

Jan is survived by her husband, Kenneth Kemp; their four kids, DaNeal (Tyler) Hughes, Jake (Rhiannon) Kemp, Karmen Mashburn and Meghan Kemp; nine grandchildren, Gage (Jessica) Headley, Connor (Madison) Rankin, Mekennah (Dylan) Petersen, Jaya Busby, Ellie Rankin, Joslyn Yarbrough, Kamden Kemp, Teigan Kemp, and Kambree Kemp; great grandchild, Moxyn Petersen; sister, Carroll (Tom) McMurtry; and several nieces, nephews, and other family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Jean Pease.

A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m., Tuesday, July 2 at Floral Lawns Memorial Gardens with Pastor Job Vigil as officiant. Book signing will be on Monday, July 1 from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. at Adams & Swanson Funeral Home. Adams & Swanson Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
