North Platte High School’s Cody Wright was named to the second team of the Super State football team by the Lincoln Journal-Star.
This season, Wright rushed for 963 yards on 201 carries as he helped the Bulldogs to a 6-3 record and the team’s first win in the state playoffs since 2004. In 2019, he rushed for 1,085 yards on 211 carries.
Five other Bulldogs were named as honorable mentions by the Journal-Star. They were Vince Genatone, Caleb Kinkaid, Jaylan Ruffin, Camron Sutherland and Kolten Tilford.
Those same six players were also named all-state honorable mention by the Omaha World-Herald, as well.
“Not only are these six players deserving of this honor, but they are all multi-sport athletes that have made a strong commitment to our year round strength and conditioning program,” NPHS head football coach Todd Rice said. “I am proud of these guys and our entire team for the continued work in improving our football program.”
