The Wallace volleyball team got second at the Loomis tournament on Saturday.

Kendyl Flaming led Wallace with 10 kills. Kaley Sauser had 20 assists and nine digs.

“Even though girls lost to Loomis in the championship match at the Loomis tournament, I was proud of the way the girls competed throughout the whole tournament,” Wallace head coach Krystal Sauser said.

The Wildcats defeated Silver Lake (7-4) and Hi-Line (5-4) in their first two games.

They won in three sets over Silver Lake — 25-20, 20-25, 25-17.

Karlie Finley had 19 kills and Flaming followed with 10. Sauser had 25 assists and Reagan Pelster had 10 assists.

“The girls fought from behind in the first set to win, but lost in the second,” Sauser said. “In the third set, they persevered to dominate in the final set to win the game.”

Wallace swept Hi-Line in two sets — 25-19, 25-9.

Brooke Bryant led with seven kills and Sauser had 11 assists.

“The girls started off slow in the first set, but cleaned up their play in the second set playing much better,” Sauser said.
