VFW invites student writers, speakers to recognize outstanding citizenship

The Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post 1504 in North Platte, is sponsoring four contests to honor teachers, veterans and first responders who exemplify the best things about liberty and democracy in the United States.

They are looking for teachers who instill a sense of national pride in students.

They want to know what a veteran has taught students about America.

They are looking for firefighters, law officers and emergency service providers who are consistently excellent in the performance ot their duties.
