The North Platte Public Library is having a prehistoric-themed children’s summer reading program.
These events, filled with paleontology and archaeology, are called “Unearth a story.” They started June 1 and will run until July 30.

Every Wednesday
Book babies 10-10:30 a.m. (little children)
Random days – Afternoon adventures
July 15: Fossil Fest 2:30 p.m.
July 18: Yeast bread class – 2 p.m.
July 22: Ancient Egypt cuffs and collar necklace – 2:30 p.m.
July 29: Make-do dinosaurs – 2:30 p.m.
Every Monday – Tween time (for ages 9-12)
July 6: Blooming poems – 4 p.m.
July 13: Stomp chomp at Cody Park – 10 a.m. Also, create your own fossils – 4 p.m.
July 20: Write like an Egyptian – 4 p.m.
July 27: Lego dinosaur challenge – 4 p.m.
Every Tuesday & Thursday – Story time 10:30 a.m.
July 7: Story time plus Shadowbox nightlight – 6:30 p.m.
July 14: Story time Fossil dig – 4 p.m.
July 21: Story time only – 10:30 a.m.
July 28: Story time plus Fossil dig – 4 p.m.
Every Thursday – Teens explore (ages 13-19)
July 2: Red, white and blue Smores dip 4 p.m.
July 9: Q-tip hydrangeas 4 p.m.
July 16: Build a dino 4 p.m.
