On Friday evening, Oct. 26, Nebraska State Patrol investigators conducted alcohol inspections in Dawson County.

This project was supported in whole or part by Grant #93.959 under the SAMHSA Center for Substance Abuse Prevention, Region II Human Services, and the Nebraska DHHS Division of Behavioral Health.

In total, 10 businesses were inspected.

Two businesses sold alcohol to a minor for a non-compliance rate of 20%. One of the businesses inspected failed to check the minor’s ID, NSP spokesman Cody Thomas said.

The businesses included liquor stores, convenience stores, bowling alleys, restaurants, and bars.

The businesses that failed were:

• Drunkin Buzzard of Eddyville (sold to minor, checked ID.)

• Casey’s General Store #1747 of Lexington (sold to minor, did not check ID.)

Businesses that fail inspections are referred to the Nebraska Liquor Control Commission. Clerks who sell alcohol to a minor are cited for procuring alcohol for a minor.
