State troopers arrested two people Sunday morning, June 8, on I-80 near Lexington after finding more than 20 pounds of suspected fentanyl and cocaine in their vehicle.
Nebraska State Patrol spokesman Cody Thomas said around 11:30 a.m., a trooper stopped a Honda CRV for speeding on I-80 about two miles east of Lexington. During the stop, the trooper became suspicious of criminal activity, leading to a search of the vehicle.
Thomas said toopers found several packages of suspected fentanyl and cocaine weighing at total of around 23 pounds.
The driver, Miguel De Sala Rudecindo, 25, and passenger Geudys Cabreja Nunez, 31, both of Bronx, New York, were charged with possession of cocaine, possession of fentanyl, and possession with intent to deliver. Both were taken to the Dawson County jail.
