State troopers found an 8-year-old girl from Wisconsin and her mother on I-80 Saturday and arrested a man accused of abduction.

On Saturday afternoon, the Nebraska State Patrol received information that a vehicle associated with an AMBER Alert issued in Wisconsin was believed to be driving in Nebraska, NSP spokesman Cody Thomas said.

Troopers found the vehicle west of Gretna, traveling west on I-80. The vehicle, a Buick Terraza, exited I-80 at the Greenwood interchange at mile marker 420, and turned north onto Neb. Highway 63.

Troopers pulled it over. a traffic stop on the vehicle and discovered that the driver was the suspect wanted in connection with the AMBER Alert.

Irene Lentz and her mother, Betty Lentz, were in the vehicle and the driver, Joseph Nicpon, 44, was arrested and taken to the Cass County jail. Irene Lentz was placed in protective custody and her mother will be questioned by Wisconsin authorities.

The Nebraska State Patrol is helping the Wautoma, Wisc. police with the investigation.
