State troopers arrested two people from California Thursday and seized 11 pounds of meth during an I-80 traffic stop near Kearney.
A search of the pickup turned up 10 packages of meth behind the driver’s side dashboard, Nebraska State Patrol spokesman Cody Thomas said.
Thomas said the pickup was eastbound. It was pulled over around 1:05 a.m. Thursday for driving on the shoulder, and clandestine activity led to the search.
The driver, Hector Diaz Perez, 23, of Marina, Calif., and passenger, Abel Perez Valdivia, 35, of Salinas, Calif., were charged with possession of methamphetamine with intent to deliver. Both were taken to the Buffalo County jail.
