State troopers arrested a Colorado man in the darkness Friday morning following a chase on I-80, where speeds reached 150 mph.

Nebraska State Patrol spokesman Cody Thomas said at 1:30 a.m. Friday, a trooper clocked a 2012 Audi at 103 mph eastbound on I-80 near Kearney.  The trooper tried to pull the car over, but it accelerated and a pursuit began.

Thomas said the vehicle reached speeds in excess of 150 mph during the pursuit, before the vehicle got off at the Shelton interchange. The Audi went north to U.S. Highway 30 and eventually stopped after becoming high-centered on railroad tracks at the junction of U.S. 30 and Schauppsville road.

Troopers took the driver into custody without further trouble.

The driver, Jacob Rhoades, 20, of Parker, Colo. was arrested for flight to avoid arrest and willful reckless driving. He was taken to the Buffalo County jail, Thomas said.
