The North Platte St. Pat’s boys’ and girls’ track and field teams won the Creek Valley Storm Invitational in Chappell on Tuesday.

The boys scored 148 points. Hemingford beat Kimball by one point, 83-82, for second place.

The boys won six events. Mason Giebler swept the sprints. He won the 100 meter dash at 11.95 seconds and the 200 meters at 23.42 seconds.

Coltan Ham won the 3200 meters at 10:51.91. Ham was also a part of the 4-x-800 relay. Ham, Porter Connick, Kallen Brown and Dmitri Pettit clocked in at 9:39.67, defeating Kimball by 13 seconds.

Logan Dodson won the shot put at 49’9″ and Logan Winder won the high jump at 6’2″.

The St. Pat’s girls finished first with 125 points. Paxton edged Kimball by one point, 82-81, for second place.

The Lady Irish had four first place finishes. Two of them came on relays. The 4-x-100 relay of Sophia Baca, Ruby Uerling, Jamie Murtaugh and Gabby Swift won with a time of 53.61 seconds. They defeated Kimball by four-tenths of a second.

The 4-x-400 relay of Cara Roberg, Swift, Baca and Uerling won at 4:48.66, defeating Kimball by five seconds.

Swift also won the long jump at 15’3″, defeating Emmaline Tabor of Kimball by nine inches.

Zaleah Cartwright won the triple jump at 32’6″, besting Ella Stanley of South Platte by two feet.

Next, St. Pat’s will compete in the E. Lee Todd Invitational hosted by Perkins County on Saturday.
