The Hershey boys and the North Platte St. Pat’s girls won the Hershey-St. Pat’s Invitational on Saturday at Summers Field in Hershey.
The Hershey boys scored 180 points as they won eight events.
The Panthers swept the throws with Michael Salinas winning the shot put and Rhodee Hill taking the discus.
Salinas threw for a distance of 50’0.75″ in the shot put. His teammate, Jaydon Parker, was second at 45’5″. In the discus, Hill threw 138’3″ and again another Hershey thrower was second as Jackson Arensdorf had 118’5″.
Hershey also won two of the three jumping events. Eli Smith won the long jump at 22’2.25″, besting Matthew Giebler of St. Pat’s by nine inches. Korbyn Herrick won the triple jump at 39’5.25″, defeating Easton Dancer of Sutherland by two feet.
Kale DaMoude won the 110 meter hurdles at 15.9 seconds as he edged teammate Landon Kennicutt by a tenth of a second.
DaMoude also helped the Panthers win the 4×100 meter relay. Cole Murdock, J.T. Lantis, DaMoude and Smith were victorious at 44.46 seconds as they defeated St. Pat’s by 1.2 seconds.
Hershey won the other two relays. In the 4×400, Murdock, Callen Brown, Zaiden Powell and Arensdorf posted a time of 3:48.95, a couple of seconds faster than St. Pat’s. In the 4×800 relay, the Panthers defeated Maxwell by 50 seconds as Brown, Powell, Kolton Palm and Arensdorf clocked in at 10:26.1.
St. Pat’s finished second with 151 points as they won five events. Three of those wins came from Coltan Ham while the other two were from Mason Giebler.
Ham won the 800, 1600 and 3200 meters with respective times of 2:14.25, 5:01.84 and 11:00.06. Giebler won the 100 at 10.71 seconds and the 200 at 23.42 seconds.
Sutherland was fourth with 54 points. The Sailors dominated the pole vault with each of the top five finishers. Jack Wallace was first with a height of 12’6″. Jackson Saner also had 12’6″ but had fewer makes. Tristan Woolf was third at 11’0″, while Ben Frame and Jonah Saner got 10’6″.
Maxwell was fifth with 39 points.
Sprints propel Lady Irish to top
The St. Pat’s girls finished first by scoring 141 points.
Freshman Sydney Lake won the 100 and 200 meters. In the 100, her time was 12.93 seconds, nearly half a second faster than Kenna Bringewatt of Hershey. In the 200, Lake came in at 28.46 seconds. Again, Bringewatt was second at 29.13 seconds.
Lake also anchored the winning 4×100 relay. Zaleah Cartwright, Ruby Uerling, Dessy Baca and Lake finished with a time of 53.78 seconds. They beat Hershey by a second and a half.
Uerling won the long jump at 16’0″, six inches more than Ella Rice of Mullen.
Hershey was second with 128.5 points as they won five events.
Addison Frederick won the shot put at 35’1.25″, a foot and a half more than Reece Glinn of Paxton.
Frederick finished second to teammate Demi DaMoude in the discus. DaMoude won at 106’3″ and Frederick was four inches short.
Adi Moore won the triple jump at 32’1″ as she edged Uerling by an inch.
Livia Jones won the 3200 at 15:03.4 and she was a part of the winning 4×800 relay. Kyra Hacker, Ella Becher, Jones and Ainslee Stier had a time of 11:37.5, defeating Paxton by 12 seconds.
Maxwell finished fifth with 29 points as Emory Christensen won the high jump at 4’10”.
