In the early voting results on primary election day, Elizabeth Tegtmeier of North Platte took a commanding Lincoln County lead in the race for the state school board.
With two of 25 Lincoln County precincts counted, as well as early mail-in ballots, Tegtmeier shot to the lead with 1,823 votes, nearly tripling the total of incumbent Robin Stevens of Gothenburg (654.) Pat Moore of Litchfield had 326.
Tegtmeier also held a commanding lead in the wider area in the early returns. With about 365 of the early precincts counted in western Nebraska, she had 62% of the votes. Stevens had 20%, the Nebraska Secretary of State reported.
All totals are unofficial.
Weems: early lead
In a three-way race for Lincoln County Commissioner, Dist. 2, incumbent Kent Weems led his nearest opponent David P. Huebner by about 45 votes.
Jacobson: Slight lead over Bruns
In the race for state legislature from Dist. 42, Interim Sen. Mike Jacobson led his nearest opponent Chris Bruns, 1,448-1,200. Dist. 42 consists of Hooker, Thomas, McPherson and Logan counties, in addition to Lincoln County and about three-fourths of Perkins County. Brenda Fourtner was in a distant third place. .

NP school board
In competitive races for two seats on the North Platte school board, the early leaders were Cynthia O’Connor and Marcy Hunter in Ward 1 and Emily Garrick and Mark Nicholson in Ward 3.
Gale
David Gale of North Platte led in the race for a seat on the board of directors of the Nebraska Public Power District.
Pillen
In the Republican race for governor, Jim Pillen led Charles Herbster and Brett Lindstrom in Lincoln County, and statewide as well.
