Sgt. Jeff Foote’s wife Deb was recently diagnosed with leukemia and the couple is traveling to Omaha for extended treatments.

From 11:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 29, the North Platte police department will host a benefit taco bar feed at North Platte’s Moose Lodge to raise funds for the couple. The Army of Angels will host a silent auction and bake sale at the same time.

Proceeds of the benefit will help with medical and travel expenses. 

The Moose Lodge is at 1315 E. Fourth.

The police department has also sold raffle tickets for a Forged Anderson lower and Palmetto State upper Classic M4 rifle, donated by by Marty and Tonya Denton. Tickets are all sold, NPPD said Tuesday.

The drawing will be at 2 p.m. on Feb. 14. The winner need not be present to win, the NPPD said in a social media post.

Monetary donations to help the couple can be sent to the nonprofit, Army of Angels, PO Box 351, North Platte, NE 69103, dropped off at the North Platte Moose Lodge or dropped at The Platte Bar, organizers say.
