The North Platte High boys’ swimming team had four first place finishes on Saturday in the Greater Nebraska Athletic Conference meet in Hastings.
Senior Cooper Leibhart won the 100-yard backstroke in 54.4 seconds, winning by four seconds over Lucas Sidlo of Hastings.
Junior Tanner Schmid-Sutton won the 200 individual medley at 2:07.45, winning by three seconds over Dru Breeden of Beatrice.
The two helped the Bulldogs win two of the three relays. Leibhart, Noah Short, David Fitzpatrick and Schmid-Sutton won the 200 freestyle relay at 1:32.47. They edged Hastings by three-tenths of a second.
The same foursome won the 200 medley relay at 1:42.53. Their victory in the medley was a much larger margin, defeating Scottsbluff-Gering by six seconds.
The best finish for the NPHS girls on the day came in the 200 medley relay. Tzeitel Wehr, Sydney Hatch, Whitney Wehr and Nora Wehr finished six-tenths of a second behind first place Beatrice at 2:02.78.
The GNAC meet was the last meet of the regular season. The state meet will be held in Lincoln on Feb. 22-24.
