The North Platte High boys’ swimming team finished fifth at the Kearney Invitational on Saturday.

The Bulldogs scored 120 points to finish fifth among eight teams. Kearney won the meet with 319 1/2 points.

NPHS had two third place finishes on the day. Cooper Leibhart won the bronze medal in the 100-yard backstroke.

Leibhart also swam on the 200 medley relay that also finished third. The team of Leibhart, Noah Short, Tanner Schmid-Sutton and Christian Short finished behind Lincoln Pius X and Kearney.

The North Platte girls finished seventh out of eight teams with 61 points. Grand Island was first at 278.

Next, the Bulldog swim teams will compete at the Gene Cotter Invitational hosted by Lincoln High on Jan. 15.
