Horses, riders, carriages, alumni and business folks marched in the annual July 4 parade in Sutherland Friday, and many in the parade shot water guns at spectators, while the Fire and Rescue Department showed off their impressive lineup of vehicles and equipment.

The grand marshal was Don Main, a long-time, civic-minded Sutherland resident.

After the Honor Guard, Lincoln County Sheriff Jerome Kramer led the sheriff’s posse near the start of the hour-long parade.

The parade went on under a cloudy sky, with the temperature in the 80 and occasional raindrops falling.

The Hershey Sparklers middle school dance team stopped often to entertain the crowd with a nifty routine.
