Mid-Plains Community College’s 57th annual Inter-High Day brought together over 500 students from 22 area high schools to North Platte on Tuesday.
The scholastic contest was spread across both North Platte campuses.
Students competed for scholarships and other prizes while taking tests in everything from art, accounting and criminal justice to auto body, welding and diesel technology.
Schools earned points based on how well students placed in academic divisions.
In recent years, MPCC offered free credit hours for early-entry classes as prizes. Because all of the college’s early-entry classes are now free, MPCC awarded scholarships for the top three placers this year in each category. First place winners received $500 scholarships, with $250 for second place and $100 for third place.
