Stephanie Rodriguez was born Dec. 16, 1978 to John and Rosie Rodriguez in North Platte where she was raised.

She attended St. Patrick’s Catholic School, graduated from North Platte High School, then attended Mid-Plains Community College.

She married Jason Sellers and they lived in North Platte where they welcomed three daughters and later divorced.

She worked at TLC for many years before becoming activity director at Centennial Park Retirement Home, now called The Maples at Centennial. Through her work, Stephanie helped change the lives of others and dedicated countless hours to the residents to ensure they were cared for and valued.

She was a member and a big supporter of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church/School. She loved gardening and had a green thumb for plants. She also loved movie nights, family vacations, and taking photos. She also collected crystals and rocks while on vacations. Her devotion was to her family – she always put their needs and dreams first with her love and support.

Stephanie later met Mike Laack and his three daughters. She and Mike shared a home, a family and later welcomed their daughter, Ceven.

Our dearly loved Stephanie, who was a beautiful and loving mother, daughter, sister and friend, was tragically taken from us along with her beloved Mike on Saturday, Sept. 21, 2024 as the result of a motorcycle accident near Arthur. She was 45 years young.

Stephanie’s smile and unforgettable laugh (that words cannot describe) could brighten any room. Her sharp wit and great sense of humor made every moment with her a joy, leaving a lasting impression on everyone she met. She leaves behind a legacy of love for her family.

Survivors include her daughters, Shayla, Jocylin and Annika Sellers and Ceven Laack and Mike’s girls, Tesla Sanchez (Gilberto), Journey Laack (Josh) and Santana Modlin (Caiden), and her parents, John and Rosie Rodriguez, all of North Platte.

Survivors also include her sisters, Priscilla Voss (Derek) of Omaha and Monica Rodriguez-Velazquez (Roberto) of Manor, Texas; nieces, Lola, Madelyn and Camila; many extended family members and her friends and residents at The Maples.
