In honor of Veterans Day, the St. Patrick’s Jr./Sr. High students will gather for an assembly at 8 a.m Monday, Nov. 11 in the high school gymnasium.

Boy Scout Troop 292 will present the colors and the high school band, led by music director Jennifer Winder, will perform a couple of songs.

The keynote speaker is North Platte Police Chief Daniel K. Hudson.

Veterans Day honors those who have served the country in war or peace — deceased or alive — although it’s largely intended to thank living veterans for their sacrifices.

“We feel it’s important for our students to understand the importance of Veterans Day. This day is set aside to thank and honor all those who served honorably in the military – in wartime or peacetime,”  St. Pat’s Principal Mark Skillstad said.
