Special Olympics of Nebraska will use Adams Middle School on April 6 for a western Nebraska youth summit.

The summit is open to students grades 9-12, including students in transition and students with and without disabilities.

The summit will encourage students to create more inclusive environments in schools and communities.

Nathan Franz, a senior at North Platte High School, is on the youth activation committee for Special Olympics Nebraska, and has been instrumental in bringing this event to western Nebraska.

At a summit in Omaha March 9, nearly 80 students showed up. Franz would like to top this number in western Nebraska.

Registration is underway. To register, visit the Speical Olympics calendar at www.sone.org. Registration closes March 23.
