Nebraska state troopers arrested three people and seized 244 pounds of marijuana Saturday during a traffic stop on I-80 in Seward County.
At 5 p.m. Saturday, a trooper saw an eastbound Ford Explorer speeding about 25 miles west of Lincoln and pulled it over, Nebraska State Patrol spokesman Cody Thomas said.
During the traffic stop, the trooper smelled the odor of marijuana coming from inside the vehicle.
The Explorer was searched and 244 pounds of marijuana were found inside the cargo area.
The driver, Peter Sychamp, 52, of Sacramento, Calif. and passengers Pisa Phanthavong, 57, of Sacramento, and Marich Poomchat, 22, of Thailand, were charged with possession of marijuana with intent to deliver.
All three men were taken to the Seward County jail, Thomas said.
