Jayson Scott of North Platte won the Dynasty Combat Sports Flyweight championship on Saturday.

At the Kearney Cage Wars, Scott beat Brandon Trout of Scottsbluff with a rear naked choke in the first round to win the title. At age 19, he is the youngest amateur champion for Dynasty Combat Sports, a promotion that holds shows in Omaha and Lincoln, as well as Kearney.

Scott will be in action in North Platte on March 23 at the St. Patty’s Beatdown when he squares off with Isiah Torres of Pueblo, Colo. for the Midwest Championship Flyweight title.

Scott has won all six fights in his amateur career. He is trained by North Platte fighter Ryan MacDonald at his gym, 6910N1.

This time a year ago, Scott was competing for championships in wrestling. As a senior for North Platte High School, Scott made it to the Class A finals in the 126 pound weight class. In the championship match, he was pinned by Kearney’s Phillip Moomey.

Before that, Scott competed in boxing.
