On Thursday evening, April 17, the Lied Center’s Arts Across Nebraska tour will bring the musical trio Take3 to North Platte High’s performing arts theater.

Featuring musicians trained at the world’s top conservatories, this unique trio of violin, cello, and piano brings together the power and energy of rock music with the sophistication and beauty of classical Bach.

The show features the music of popular artists, including The Beatles, Billy Joel, Elvis, Neil Diamond, Imagine Dragons, and favorite songs such as, “Sweet Home Alabama,” “Hallelujah,” “Game of Thrones.” “Stand by Me,” and “Pirates of the Caribbean.

North Platte High School is at 1220 W. Second St. Take3 will take the stage at 7 p.m.

There will be a free-will donation at the door, with proceeds going to the North Platte Foundation to add to the funds to refurbish and maintain the high school’s grand piano long into the future.

This event is sponsored by a Mid-Nebraska Community betterment grant and a North Platte Foundation REACH Grant. It is held in cooperation with the concert series at North Platte Community Playhouse.

“It will be an excellent concert and it is wonderful that it is open to the public, as well as the North Platte Concert Association,” Community Playhouse Administrator Rajean Shepherd said.

This performance is also made possible by the Nebraska Arts Council, Nebraska Cultural Endowment, Friends of Lied, and The Richard P. Kimmel and Laurine Kimmel Charitable Foundation.
