Richard Nathaniel “Rich” Hulse, 68, of North Platte passed away June 24, 2026 at CHI Good Samaritan in Kearney.

He was born Nov. 14, 1957 in North Platte to David George James and Audrey Corso.

At the age of 5, Rich moved to Lakewood, Colo. He worked several jobs and was on the crew that built Gerald Gentleman Station. He hired on Union Pacific Railroad and retired as an engineer after 42 years.

Rich married Bonny Searles on March 17, 1977 in North Platte. To this union a son, Jared “JD”, was born. JD was Rich’s pride and joy. They enjoyed remote controlled cars, restoring muscle cars and racing.

Rich had many hobbies which included woodworking, fishing, leather working, making kites and flying them with his family.

Rich and Bonny spent several back breaking hours restoring the Dietrich home in North Platte. Rich was a true artist.

After retiring, Rich did family genealogy for the DAR and SAR. Rich loved music and had a large collection of albums from a variety of artists.  

Survivors include his wife, Bonny Hulse of North Platte; son, Jared “JD” Hulse of North Platte; mother, Audrey Hulse; numerous other family members and many friends.

Rich was preceded in death by his father, David George James.

Cremations was chosen. As per Rich’s request there will not be any services. Adams & Swanson Funeral Home is assisting the family.
