In the film, Only the Brave, Brendan McDonough’s journey can be seen as nothing short of extraordinary.

McDonough will share his journey through struggle and redemption during a Town Hall Lecture on Tuesday, Sept. 10 at the Fox Theater in North Platte,

A recovering heroin addict, McDonough found hope and purpose when given a chance to change his life while serving as an elite squad of firefighters, “Granite Mountain Hotshots.”

In 2013, after surviving the Yarnell Hill Wildfire, which included the unfathomable loss of 19 of his fellow firefighters, he found strength to carry on while dealing with post-traumatic stress disorder.

McDonough encourages others to be their best selves and seek support when struggling.

A question-and-answer period will follow the lecture, following a brief intermission.
